While a number of programs are looking to finalize their 2015 recruiting classes, Michigan landed a second commitment in the Class of 2016 Thursday night. According to Dylan Burkhardt of UMHoops.com, 6-foot-10 big man Austin Davis has verbally committed to join John Beilein’s program.
Davis, who played at Onsted HS in Onsted, Michigan, joins another 6-foot-10 big in four-star John Teske in Michigan’s 2016 haul. And the front court Davis has committed to join in 2016 won’t lack for options either. Among the front court players on the current roster who will have eligibility remaining in 2016 are Mark Donnal, Ricky Doyle, D.J. Wilson and incoming freshman Moritz Wagner.
Burkhardt wrote the following in regards to the front court that Davis and Teske will join during the 2016-17 season:
In regards to next season’s roster, Michigan is still waiting for a decision from junior Caris LeVert in regards to the 2015 NBA Draft. Should LeVert, who’s coming off of a foot injury that ended his season early, decide to return for his senior season the Wolverines should be able to get back to the NCAA tournament after injuries and youth led to them missing out in 2014-15.
