Four-star 2016 small forward decommits from San Diego State

In a span of 10 weeks, Keith Smith went from committed to San Diego Sate to back on the market.

On Friday, Smith, from Seattle-powerhouse Rainier Beach High, decided to reopen his recruitment, according to Mark Ziegler of the Union-Tribune.

The 6-foot-7 forward released this statement through his mother:

“I’ve decided to reopen my recruiting process. As choosing a college is a major life decision, I have decided that I need to reconsider all of my options to make the best choice about where to play and pursue my degree.”

The Aztecs have no commits in the Class of 2016 after Friday’s developments.

Smith held offers from Cal, Gonzaga, Oregon and Washington before pledging to San Diego State on Feb. 14. He’s ranked No. 68 in the Class of 2016, according to Rivals.
