Iowa might have found some help replacing Aaron White’s production as the school announced the addition of junior college forward Dale Jones on Monday.

The 6-foot-8 Jones was an NJCAA honorable mention All-American at Tyler Junior College as he averaged 16.9 points per game. Jones is also a strong shooter as he went 45 percent (99-of-218) from 3-point range and also shot 84 percent from the free-throw line.

“Dale is a versatile front court player who can score, rebound and shoot at a high percentage,” Iowa head coach Fran McCaffery said in the release. “He played for one of the top junior colleges and coaches in the country in Mike Marquis. This is a great opportunity for Dale to come back home. We’re thrilled that he’s going to be a Hawkeye.”

A native of Waterloo, Iowa, Jones will be able to play in his home state to close out his college career. He joins a six-man Hawkeye recruiting class that includes high school guards Christian Williams, Isaiah Moss and Andrew Fleming and high school forwards Brandon Hutton and Ahmad Wagner.

It sounds like Jones should be able to help with more perimeter shooting from the front court and Iowa has a versatile class coming in next season.
