Mychal Mulder, a junior college shooting guard from Vincennes University (Indiana), committed to John Calipari and Kentucky on Tuesday afternoon.

He joins Skal Labissiere, the top-ranked player in the 2015 class, according to Rivals, top-rated point guard Isaiah Briscoe and fellow shooting guard Charles Matthews in John Calipari’s incoming class. The 6-foot-4 Mulder is listed as a four-star recruit by Rivals.
"(Calipari) told me there is an opportunity there for me and it’s my choice to grab it. That’s all I ever wanted,” Mulder said, via Kyle Tucker of the Courier Journal. “It was a tough decision for me. A lot of great people recruited me. I just thought at the end of the day, Kentucky, playing there was probably my best chance of continuing my career (after college).”

He serves as the first commit since seven Kentucky players declared for the 2015 NBA Draft.

Earlier this month, eight uncommitted players participated in the 2015 McDonald’s All-American Game, many of whom were still considering the Wildcats. Since then, Stephen Zimmerman chose to stay in-state at UNLV, Malik Newman also decided to stay close to home, picking Mississippi State, Brandon Ingram announced he’d join the reigning national champion and shortly after Mulder’s announcement, Cheick Diallo committed to Kansas.

Kentucky is still in play for Jaylen Brown as well as Thon Maker.

Mulder averaged 15.7 points and 6.4 rebounds per game, shooting a 46.3 clip from beyond the 3-point line.
