Florida State got on the board in the Class of 2016 on Tuesday, with a commitment from in-state 6-foot-4 guard Trent Forrest. Rated as the No. 82 player in the national class, according to Rivals, Forrest is currently playing with the Georgia Stars in the Nike EYBL.

Forrest also played the EYBL and broke out on the national scene last summer with the Alabama Challenge. The shooting guard plays at Chipley High School in a Florida town of the same name.

An athletic guard with good strength and burst around the basket, Forrest is a nice addition for the Seminoles and he continues to give Florida State a pipeline of talented off-the-ball players going to the Seminoles. After the 2015 class Florida State had, which was the No. 11 class in the country, according to Rivals.

Forrest gets in the paint and can score around the hoop. His jumper and handle can both use a little bit of work, but he has some upside and should be a solid ACC player.
