It took Kentucky head coach John Calipari less than an hour to deny a report that he is interested in coaching the NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday afternoon.

“Even though Anthony and Tyreke are in NOLA, I have no interest in the Pelicans or any other job,” Calipari tweeted. “I have a great job and I’m happy at UK.”

The Anthony and Tyreke that Calipari is referring to is Anthony Davis and Tyreke Evans. Davis, who is the best young player in the NBA, was the star on Kentucky’s 2012 national title team while Evans played for Calipari in 2009 at Memphis.

Earlier on Tuesday, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reported that a source close to Calipari told the organization that he is interested in the vacancy, but the difference between his current salary -- his contract pays him nearly $8 million annually through 2022 -- and the $4-5 million that the Pelicans could afford to pay him is an issue.
