Nebraska announced on Tuesday that they have extended the contract of head coach Tim Miles through the 2019-20 season.
Miles will also be receiving a pay bump, as a source told NBCSports.com that his salary will be more than $2 million annually.
“It’s very gratifying and humbling that Shawn has shown a great deal of faith in our program,” Miles told the Omaha World-Herald. “This time, it’s been with an extension for the head coach. But he’s also done it over and over with helping me hire high-quality assistants and making sure we’ve got enough resources to do our job the right way.”
The Cornhuskers are coming off of a season where they finished a disappointing 13-18 overall. That was a year after they made a surprising run to the 2014 NCAA tournament. Miles is 47-49 in three years since taking over in Lincoln.
