Iowa State has done a notable job recruiting transfers into their program the last few seasons, but they do have one commitment in the 2015 class from high school ranks with guard Nick Noskowiak.

With rumors swirling that Cyclone head coach Fred Hoiberg will take the Chicago Bulls head coaching job now that the team has fired former coach Tom Thibodeau, Randy Peterson of the Des Moines Register caught up with Noskowiak to see if he was comfortable staying at Iowa State if Hoiberg left.

“I was excited to be playing with a bunch of really good and talented players back when I committed, and that’s the way I feel now,” Noskowiak said to Peterson. “I’m going to a good place. It’s where I want to be.”

The four-star native of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin signed a financial aid agreement with Iowa State in late April. The 6-foot-2 Noskowiak is likely to stay put with the Cyclones as long as assistant coach T.J. Otzelberger is there. Otzelberger is also Wisconsin native and helped land Noskowiak after he was released from his Letter of Intent at Marquette in February.

It seems inevitable that Hoiberg is moving on to the NBA, but either way, it appears the current Iowa State core will remain in-tact for what looks like a very promising 2015-16 season.
