Former Indiana forward Devin Davis will spend the next year in the junior college ranks after a difficult sophomore season in Bloomington.

On Thursday night, Zach Ostermann of the Indianapolis Star reported that the 6-foot-7 forward would transfer to Odessa College in Texas. Davis was dismissed from the program on May 14 along with rising senior big man Hanner Mosquera-Perea. Last week, Mosquera-Perea decided to enroll at Eastern Tennessee State for his final year of eligibility.

Davis redshirted the 2014-15 year after an on-campus accident left him hospitalized.

In the early hours of Nov. 1, 2014, teammate Emmitt Holt dropped Davis off right outside the IU football stadium. Holt accidentally struck Davis with the vehicle after Davis went into the road. Police found Davis unconscious, and charged Holt for illegal consumption of alcohol and driving with a BAC above 0.02.

Davis averaged 2.4 points and 2.6 rebounds per game as a freshman during the 2013-14 season. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.
