BYU received some great news as the NCAA has granted starting center Nate Austin with a fifth year of eligibility. The 6-foot-11 Austin played in only 10 games during the 2014-15 season after suffering a season-ending hamstring injury on Dec. 10. The school announced Austin’s return in an official release.

“Having Nate back for this season will be a big boost for our team,” BYU coach Dave Rose said in the release. “His experience will help us on both ends of the floor. Nate brings great enthusiasm and leadership so we’re excited to have him back.”

The return of Austin is a nice addition of BYU, as he’s very experienced and gives them some defensive coverage around the basket. Austin averaged 3 points and 5.6 rebounds in 19.6 minutes per game last season while shooting 50 percent from the field.
