With three players (Dwight Coleby, Cheick Diallo and Svi Mykhailiuk) unavailable for next month’s trip to the World University Games due to the fact that they’re natives of other countries and another (Brannen Greene) out due to injury, Kansas won’t have its full roster in South Korea. And Friday morning it was reported by the Kansas City Star that another player has been ruled out due to injury.
Rising sophomore Devonte’ Graham, who averaged 5.7 points and 2.1 assists in just under 18 minutes of action per game, will not play after suffering a partially torn quadriceps tendon. While the injury won’t require surgery, it will sideline Graham for three weeks per the report.
Kansas head coach Bill Self will look to add another guard to the roster if possible, with said addition joining SMU point guard Nic Moore as players making the trip with the Jayhawks. Moore joined juniors Frank Mason and Wayne Selden, freshman LaGerald Vick and walk-ons Evan Manning and Tyler Self as perimeter players on the World University Games roster.
