Kyle Washington is headed to Ohio, a source confirmed to NBCSports.com.

The former N.C. State big man is transferring to Cincinnati. The 6-foot-9 power forward averaged 6.8 points, 4.1 boards and 1.1 blocks in just under 18 minutes as a sophomore, numbers that were up despite his minutes being down from his freshman season.

Washington has two seasons of eligibility remaining. He’ll be eligible to play in 2016-17.

The news was first reported by CBSSports.com.

Washington is a key pick-up for the Bearcats, as he showed flashes of promise with the Wolfpack. He started 18 games this past season, although he was relegated to reserve duty late in the season. Washington is a high-energy forward that showed off a developing shooting touch from the perimeter.

That wasn’t the only addition for Cincinnati on Wednesday, as they also added a commitment from Jarron Cumberland, a 6-foot-5 guard from Ohio. Cumberland is the No. 65 player in the country, according to Rivals, and has a reputation for being one of the better scorers in the class. He’s got the kind of strong body that successful Bearcat guards have had in the past.

It’s worth noting here that this all came on the heels of a commitment from Nysier Brooks yesterday. It’s been a good 24 hours for Mick Cronin.
