Iowa is looking to replace starting forward Aaron White, who exhausted his eligibility this past season. While senior forward Jarrod Uthoff is already firmly in the starting lineup, the other spot is open and it could be filled by sophomore forward Dominique Uhl.

Teaming with Uthoff in the Prime Time summer basketball league in Iowa, Uhl averaged 21.1 points and 9.7 rebounds per game in nine league games, while also showing more confidence than last season. According to a report from Don Doxsie of the The Quad-City Times, Uhl is also up to 215 pounds from 200 last season and showed more of an ability to hang down low with returning senior center Adam Woodbury.

Summer leagues are obviously very different than the Big Ten, but these are some positive developments from Uhl, who averaged 10 minutes per contest in 33 appearances last season. Even if Uhl can become a reliable option off the bench, it will help with the Hawkeyes’ front-court depth this season.
