Iowa State head coach Steve Prohm announced on Monday that sophomore Georgis Tsalmpouris will be forgoing his final three seasons of eligibility and turning pro.
“We are happy for Georgios and his family that he’ll have the opportunity to realize his dream of playing professionally,” Prohm said. “We appreciate his contributions to the program. Georgios will always be a Cyclone and we wish him the best at the professional level.”
Tsalmpouris is a 7-foot-1 center from Greece that played limited minutes for the Cyclones last season. He saw action in just eight games and averaged 1.4 points.
Iowa State is currently in Spain on their foreign trip.
