Kentucky has landed their second commitment for the Class of 2016, as four-star forward Sacha Killeya-Jones has announced that he will be a Wildcat in college.

“I know going to play for Coach Cal at Kentucky means I will be playing against great players in practice,” he told ESPN.com. “That’s what I was looking for, because it will help me develop as a player and prepare me for the games. I know I have to earn my playing time.”

Killeya-Jones, who goes to high school in southern Virginia, originally committed to Tony Bennett and the Cavaliers but reopened his recruitment in early June. He had some impressive performances at camps that month, and his recruitment really took off in July.

At 6-foot-10, Killeya-Jones’ natural position is as a power forward, but he’s versatile and skilled enough to step out on the perimeter and operate as a stretch-four. He’s athletic and capable of finishing around the rim, but at this point he’s better suited to running pick-and-pop sets and facing up from 12-15 feet as opposed to bullying defenders on the block. Think Channing Frye.

Killeya-Jones joins New Zealand big man Tai Wynyard in Kentucky’s 2016 class. He should fit very well at the four alongside Wynyard and 2015 recruit Isaac Humphries.

Right now, Killeya-Jones is ranked 51st in the class, according to Rivals, although that number will likely be bumped up the next time the rankings are updated.
