San Diego State landed a talented transfer late Thursday, as former Missouri wing Montaque Gill-Caesar announced on Twitter that he’s decided to join Steve Fisher’s program. Gill-Caesar, who was a four-star prospect coming out of Huntington Prep in West Virginia, will have three years of eligibility remaining after he sits out the 2015-16 campaign.

The 6-foot-6 Gill-Caesar averaged 9.1 points and 3.0 rebounds per game in his lone season at Missouri, playing an average of 24 minutes contest.

Gill-Caesar is an important addition for San Diego State, which will lose wing Winston Shepard III at the end of the upcoming season. Among there perimeter players who have eligibility remaining beyond the upcoming season are Matt Shrigley, Trey Kell and Jeremy Hemsley, and adding a player who can score to this group is a boost for a program that struggled to manufacture baskets last season.

San Diego State has added two transfers to the program this summer, with former Indiana forward Max Hoetzel being the first. Like Gill-Caesar, Hoetzel will have to sit out the upcoming season per NCAA transfer rules.
