Georgetown and Syracuse will renew their storied rivalry on Dec. 5 at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C., more than two years after realignment separated the longtime Big East foes.
CasualHoya first reported the date back in June, but the two universities made it official on Monday. The non-conference clash is the first of a four-game series the two sides agreed to last summer. The rivalry will move to Syracuse in 2016 and 2018 while the Hoyas host the Orange again in 2017.
Each team will have another non-conference matchup against an ex-Big East opponent. Syracuse heads to Madison Square Garden on Dec. 13 to face St. John’s. The Hoyas begin a home-and-home series with UConn on Jan. 23 in Storrs.
Syracuse holds the all-time series against Georgetown, 49-41, with the last victory coming in the 2013 Big East Tournament title game.
