Friday it was reported by the Indianapolis Star that a former Indiana player was on the receiving end of some good news regarding the citation that led to his dismissal from the program. Forward Devin Davis, whose tumultuous time at IU came to an end shortly after he was cited for marijuana possession, won’t be charged as the citation has been dropped.

Davis was one of two players in an Indiana dorm room, with Hanner Mosquera-Perea present but not cited. Both players would ultimately be dismissed from the program, with Davis landing at Odessa JC in Texas and Mosquera-Perea at East Tennessee State.

Davis spent two seasons at Indiana but did not play in a game last season, sitting out after suffering a traumatic brain injury after being hit by a car driven by then-teammated Emmitt Holt (who was recently dismissed from the program himself). Holt was not charged in that incident as he was found to not be at fault, but he was suspended for four games by Indiana head coach Tom Crean.
